In an effort to standardize the Football Programs from the below listed schools, the Heartland Youth Football League (HYFL) was formed in January 2016. The League concept was to develop a playing system in line with our schools Jr High and High School programs. We decided on 2 Divisions with each having a Varsity and JV Team, A – 5th and 6th Grade players and B – 2nd, 3rd and 4th Grade players.  The goal of the HYFL is to create a level playing field for all players in the HYFL. We believe, with this format, all players will be able to compete in a more appropriate skill level as their own.

Selinsgrove, Danville, Shikellamy, Mifflinburg, Southern Columbia, Hughesville, Montoursville, Loyalsock and South Williamsport made up the original 9 teams for the 2016 season. Lewisburg joined in 2017. We have grown to 16 teams for 2018 with the addition of Milton, Montgomery, Muncy, Central Columbia, Warrior Run and Bloomsburg.

The HYFL will be governed by Committee. The Committee will be 1 Representative from each school in the League.

We are currently in the process of adopting USA Football's program to educate our coaches and parents on the latest safety measures for tackling and blocking.
